(28/6) ARTIST PROOF + SYLVERIA + JUNIOR UNDER THE MOON

    8:30 PM

The artist proof is essentially the first satisfactory print that defines when an artist determines a plate 'finished' and ready for printing in a full edition Artist Proof creates cinematic, visually rich music that is deep in emotion, rich in anthemic grandeur and explosive energy. They make no excuse for the fact that they create songs that are genuinely different combining ethereal high vocals, sweeping orchestral swells, epic drums, powerful, emotional piano lines, scorching guitar licks, and thumping bass lines.

    (2/7) MONIQUE BRUMBY AND BAND

    3:00 PM

Messing around with audio gear and gardening tools is what Monique Brumby does with most of her spare time. She has a keen interest in sound production and audio mixing, rivaling her passion for Patti Smith's song writing, gardening with power tools and her appreciation for Lily Tomlin's hands. The first openly gay female artist in Australia to come out publicly while signed to a major label in 1995, Monique overcame a lot of discrimination to forge forward with a music career that encompasses 5 albums, 3 EPs and multiple ARIA Awards. She paved the way for people struggling with their sexuality at a time when it was not considered ok to be gay. Monique has been a voice for the minority groups and underdogs throughout her career that spans 2 decades. She prefers to be heard live than googled so come along and check out her vibrant and rollicking band and easy story telling that makes ya feel warm and fuzzy and a bit better about yourself.

    (7/7) THE RESIGNATORS

    9:30 PM

'The Resignators sounded like Gang of Four if they were a ska band. Most of the audience sitting around me left the balcony for the dance floor, which was totally understandable. The band had an incredible energy, a great sound hybrid of vintage rock and roll and ska, a really cool organ and a kick-ass front man. I officially declare this the best ska set I’ve ever seen.' (5/8) PICTURE PERFECT (EP LAUNCH) + BUSY KINGDOM + DOLE CHQ

    8:00 PM

It’s called “Paint it Whack” – the new EP from Sydney Rock trio Picture Perfect. Recorded mostly live at Sydney’s Parliament Studios, the EP brings a new direction and energy to the trio’s sound. The songs are propelled by groove-orientated riffs and slinky guitar licks (evident on the singles “One Desire” and “She’s a Sensation”), a contrast to the band’s earlier, more straight-forward rock tracks. Since forming in the family home of brothers Gavin Bowles (vocals/guitar) and Simon Bowles (drums) with bassist Cameron Hill, Picture Perfect has been working tirelessly writing, recording and performing across Australia over the past few years. The band is set to tour the country this August and bring their new tracks to the stage, a place where they feel the most at home. With a live show described by TheMusic.com.au as “pure energy” – the “Paint it Whack” tour is one not to be missed!
