Desert rock has a new name. Planet of the 8s’ debut self titled album was conceived as a 12″ vinyl from the outset, the format determining the number of tracks, the duration, and the track listing, to create two sides of groove-heavy, psych-laced rock n roll.
The launch of the 12″ vinyl release comes hot on the heels of the digital release and marks the full realisation of the band’s vision. This gig sees them unleashing the spawn of their own unholy desert rock union: in the name of the groove, the riff and harmonised melody, amen.
Supported by Olmeg and Dark Temple, Planet of the 8s will drop a set of tracks from the album, and maybe even a cover or two from their favourite influences.
