Bad Debts will be travelling down the Calder from Castlemaine to play The Retreat front bar on 23rd August. Bad Debts are fronted by Mitch Dillon, Al Carr, and Pete Daly, joined by Al Stanley on drums. Variously described as loose rock n roll, widescreen Americana and freewheeling, low-slung guitar rock. A.C Saunders is a story teller, guitar slinger and a song singer. Melodies of an angel, lyrics of a deeply disturbed individual. A.C is influenced by folk, punk, blues, country, and of course, her surroundings. If you like day dreaming, over thinking, and crying to sad songs then you will love A.C Saunders.

The Owls are a 4 piece rock n roll band who's sound rings out somewhere within a realm defined by the countrified rock of the Byrds and CCR, the melodic guitar tapestries of Television and the wide open range of Neil Young's Crazy Horse.

Cass Aware are back — Melbourne mosh pit gremlins return from their mini sabbatical. With a new sound, a fresh groove, and a whole new perspective on the fundamentals of life itself, but the four-piece rock outfit remain convinced of one thing: there’s nothing better than a Melbourne mosh. Joined once again by alt-pop-rock royalty Chloe Booth and psychedelic rock ’n’ rollers The Opals, Cass Aware are set to turn The Retreat into a party you don’t want to miss.
David Cosma returns to The Retreat Hotel on Saturday August 30th for two sets in the front bar! The Age described Cosma as having the "full-bodied croon pairing the silken wryness of Elvis Costello and the gravel of Bob Dylan” while Inpress magazine wrote "a thinking person’s songwriter that speaks volumes to what a terrific talent we have in our midst”.
