Moses Carr (solo) pulls up at the Retreat to drop off some new beats. After a new EP release and a powerful show in Dark Mofo land he has plenty more innovative textural songs to share!! The playful collaging is presented through powerful uncompromising rhythms and grooves.

Elle Shimada (violin + laptop + vox)
is a violinist who fashions her sound after the nature and cityscapes she immerses herself in. Working with live loops and gathered samples, Elle builds ‘cinematronic’ soundscapes, layering strings above grooves and bass lines influenced by world, hip hop, house and jazz. With an impactful and evocative approach to the violin, Elle channels her deep and continuing exploration of feminine energy through her exciting music.

Rara Zulu
Cascading melismas, wide low notes and crisp falsetto wrapped up in raspy overtones Rara Zulus’ voice is bewitching. Drawing inspiration from soul, hip-hop, house, RnB and jazz; a fan of juxtaposition, her melodic choices often reflect her influence from different vocalists.
A captivating performer, Rara uses provocative storytelling to paint pictures of finding love and loves loss.
