We’re very excited to welcome our rock ’n’ roll pal Hugh F back to The Retreat, who’ll be bringing his charming brand of guitar-pop to the main room on Wednesday February 17th, with support from Cate Taylor.

An agile singer-songwriter and a formidable bandleader, Hugh F has taken his music to new heights since entering the Melbourne music world in 2015. Despite only just turning 26, he already has three self-produced albums under his belt.

In 2016 he released a collection of songs under the title Rise and Shine, followed by Childhood Reunion in 2019. His latest album Do You Have a Minute? - an album of 34 one-minute songs - was released late last year, to praise from Australian songwriting legend Darren Hanlon. “I relate to a lot of the themes Hugh sings about,” says Hanlon, “like animals, food and family, and the feeling of dislocation that comes from moving to the city from the country. And he does it in such an earnest and unpretentious way.” 

Performing two sets across the evening, with an early session from 6pm and a late session from 9pm. Tickets are $10 and limited to 50 spots per show.
