On Wednesday April 21st, Sean Sully and the Sleep-ins will be hitting The Retreat bandroom with support from Paper Tapir and STAV. (solo).

SEAN SULLY & THE SLEEP-INS: Infectious, energetic and personal, Sean’s style of melodic rock will have you thinking as much as it’ll have you swaying to the beat. Joined on stage by his band, the Sleep-ins delve into raw emotions involving friendship, frustration at the world and introspection on self-identity. Fresh off their latest release: Tomorrow is Fine, a song about finding love and making positive plans for the future, recorded during lockdown, Sean Sully & the Sleep-ins are ready to fill you up with all the best feelings music can offer.

PAPER TAPIR: No definite article, no plural. Like their name, Paper Tapir, they are one of a kind. Based in Melbourne, Australia, they play original songs about the complexity, the simplicity and the strangeness of contemporary life. Direct and raw lyrics, underscored by melodious, swirling guitar and anchoring bass and drums, Paper Tapir both surprise and delight.

STAV.: Not as quiet as you would think, mesmerising bilingual folk-pop artist STAV. blurs the lines between singing and spoken word in a mostly Australian accent and unschooled Hebrew. Introspective and playful, her thought-provoking lyrics explore themes of migration, identity across generations and womanhood.
