Our special guest is MADI COLVILLE-WALKER

Madi Colville Walker is a proud Yorta Yorta Woman and an inspiring musician who seized numerous opportunities after her inaugural performance at the CMAA Junior Academy.

Since that momentous start, Madi has graced stages at events throughout Victoria and NSW, including the Echuca/Moama Winter Blues Festival, 3 Rivers Festival, Land of Plenty Festival, National Firesticks conference, National Climate Change conference, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Nelson Mandela Day Australia, Isol-aid, Songlines: Song, Resilience and Survival, and the Share The Spirit Festival. Notably, she has also opened for renowned artists such as Archie Roach, Isiah Firebrace, Benny Walker, Fanny Lumsden, Kutcha Edwards, and Darlinghurst.

Madi's commitment extends beyond the stage, as she has collaborated with various organizations, including Barpridhila, Songlines, Culture Is Life, and The Archie Roach Foundation. She is a proud member of Multicultural Arts Victoria and APRA/AMCOS. Additionally, Madi has been part of the Inaugural First Nations Song Hubs with APRA/AMCOS at Abbey Road Institute, a member of the Heard Instinct Collective, and continues to be an active participant in the Country Music Association Of Australia (CMAA).

In her musical journey, Madi draws inspiration from key figures such as her grandfather Archie Walker (Yorta Yorta elder), award-winning artist Benny Walker, Cassie Leopold (Darlinghurst Band), and guitarist Rob Walker, who taught Madi to play the guitar. These mentors have not only influenced her musical prowess but have also provided unwavering support throughout her artistic endeavors.

Anticipate a monumental year for Madi Colville-Walker in 2021, as she is already an established singer/songwriter. This year marks the commencement of exciting collaborations with great artists, with a particular thrill to work alongside Jason Resch. Madi is poised to share her fresh, dynamic material, promising an electrifying musical journey ahead.
