Stew Magazine presents a mixed triple header at The Retreat, with 00_, Boyfriend TV and Bin Licker (QLD) .

Bin Licker : Nocturnal underground dawgs who cut their teeth on Meanjin’s bustling DIY circuit, the three-piece blends nerve-y dark guitar lines, thumpin industrial bass , icy goth schmooze – improvised or not the drum machine marches on … dissonance meets dance , ya surrounded by unsettling rhythms as ya tongue touches the trash, first run of interstate shows!

Boyfriend TV : Sincere anthems delivered with the sorta yearning 'n' emotion most punks can only imitate. Born out of a Wet Kiss milieu, these boyfriends arrive at transgressive, exciting places, sometimes synth-y, sometimes rock n roll, often camp, never glam (or so they say).

00_ : Double 0 nothin’ effortlessly toy with the boundaries of what constitutes a rock band in very cool ways . the guitar parts can sound like Gareth Liddiard trying to play his way out of a k-hole , interesting drums with careful interplay n fiery fills , bass sometimes being swapped for viola , soulful 'n' defiant yet somehow still inwards n reflective vocals … leave ya genre labels at the record store moite, one of our favourite local bands …
