The Woodland Hunters close out 2023 at the Retreat with a cool double header.
The Woodies will be banging out tracks from their latest album 'Small Mercies' plus some old faves. Long obsessed with the freewheeling spirit of '60s and early '70s guitar bands, 'Small Mercies' distils the band’s influences from psych, jam bands, folk and beyond.
They’re joined by good friends The Stu Thomas Paradox. Alongside their own hot-rock numbers, STP has a penchant for unearthing cool, obscuro film songs, which they make their own with doses of trash-guitar fuzz-twang goodness. Stu’s tunes veer from driving classics to beat-poet-punk madness to minimalist lyrical rock-outs.
