Fuzzrays, Doris and Faxman hit The Retreat bandroom for an evening of rock 'n' roll on Friday June 24th. Doors at 7:30pm, tickets are $10 + booking fee.

Fuzzrays: Fuzzrays are gettin around with a new 8!! track EP. Packed full of diverse fuzzy, punky, garage rock. Come down and get loose to some really catchy headthrashin grooves. They've been playing a lot this year packing out venues with their laidback intensity. Don't miss em!

Doris: Drawing on influences such as Sonic Youth and my bloody valentine, Doris brings a new take to alternative/shoegaze/post-punk, to the Newcastle scene. After a locally successful independent release of their debut single ‘Sidelines’ Doris have used this momentum to consistently gig through 2021, and 2022 before returning to the studio this year to record their upcoming LP.

Faxman: Faxman is the artist moniker of Chris Rugge, a modern jazz-blues artist who aptly describes his music as “Cowboy Jazz”. Leaning on influences from bygone eras, his music sits somewhere between the swinging gypsy jazz of Django Reinnhart, the booze soaked ballads of Tom Waits and the gravely melodies of Charley Patton. Faxman makes music for the modern world with an aesthetic that’s hard to place at any one moment in time.
