UNK! events present “THA UNKTION” a day/night at The Retreat Hotel Brunswick showcasing local upcoming artists exploring hip-hop, soul, RnB and culture, with DJs spinning late into the night.
After our successful launch last year UNK! is back with a stacked lineup. Holding it down with the same aim of creating a safe and inclusive space that blends flavours and immerses guests in an engaging day of music and art, bringing together a community of people that know how to keep the vibe alive.
‘THA UNKTION’ will take place on September 14th at The Retreat Hotel Brunswick with doors opening at 2pm.
UNK! was started by a collective of producer / MCs / artists originally from Kyabram (Yorta Yorta country), now living on Wurundjeri country in Naarm. We’re passionate about music, art, social justice, and creating a space for local upcoming musicians to showcase their art.
UNK! acknowledges the traditional custodians of this land in which we live, and host events on. The Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. UNK! wishes to pay our respects and gratitude to elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded this is and always will be aboriginal land. UNK! wants to give back by supporting local First Nations artists and present a stage where they can perform and share their talents.
The Retreat Hotel would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which The Retreat now stands, and pay our respects to all elders past, present and emerging.
