Hailing from the streets of Naarm/Melbourne, Marley Del Prete is an organic trumpeter who explores the intersection between spiritual and intensely free jazz. Taking cues from the works of Don Cherry, Pharoah Sanders and Alice Coltrane, Marley delivers a fresh take on the time-honoured genre.
2023 saw the release of Marley’s debut album ‘Movement’ which received great reception for its innovative approach to spiritual jazz. Working along-side the likes of Nat Birchall and Nikodimos, Marley is forging his own unique sound in the Melbourne jazz scene. A northside native, Marley is looking forward to bringing his music back to the Retreat Hotel for a night of special music.
