ABOLISH AUSTRAYA: A night of Blak Excellence and Resistance!

In the lead up to Invasion Day, join us @ The Retreat for a showcase of deadly Blak talent: celebrating community, culture and survival in the face of 237 years of ongoing genocide.

Featuring a stacked lineup of staunch First Nations rappers:

PHILLY

a proud Wemba Wemba HipHop artist, Philly grew up in Mildura (Latji Latji country) off the banks of the Mighty Murray River. “I feel like I’m obligated to use my music to make change for the better and to use my craft to teach. Through music I have always wanted to voice my opinion; wether it be about Black struggle or to bring positive messages for Indigenous youth, I understand that I have been given an opportunity to inform.” Philly was the winner of the National Indigenous Music Awards ‘New Talent of the Year’ category in 2015, then signed to Briggs’ all Indigenous record label – Bad Apples Music in 2016. After several years with the label Philly took some time away from music, but the MC is determined to continue to use his voice to make change and inspire young people.

RACERAGE

a queer, Blak radical rapbrat ; spitting bars & shattering white fragility. Infusing dark electronic hiphop with defiant punk energy, they collab with other BIPOC, queer and trans artists to create frosty political protest rap. Prepare for hiphop as truth telling: real, raw and clawed from their core.

TRU BLUDD

An up and coming artist from the underground, Tru Bludd brings in modern nostalgia with witty bars, a quick flow and an unmatched passion for the scene.

RIXY

a 30 year old, proud Kirrae Wurrung man. Rixy has been honing his craft for 17 years, bringing together his talents in guitar, singing, rap, writing his own lyricism and producing his own beats. Newly emerging in the scene, Rixy is keen on manifest a future career in music.
