Flower Extract “Trying” single launch at The Retreat Hotel Brunswick w/ Kalopsia & Monet’s Pond

  • 280 Sydney Road Brunswick, VIC, 3056 Australia (map)

MAIN ROOM / Door $20

Flower Extract celebrate the release of the Trying, the second single from their upcoming sophomore EP, at The Retreat Hotel Brunswick. A glittery, synth fuelled examination of mortality - Trying is the band's first song to feature synth player Charlie Pyecroft (GODICH, Medhanit, Emi Emi) on production duties. The result is a densely layered, euphoric 3 minutes and 54 seconds of indie-psych-rock that presents Flower Extract in a never before hear fidelity. Hailing from the east coast of lutruwita/Tassie, Flower Extract are a distinctly vandemonian indie-psych-rock quartet who now operate between nipaluna/Hobart and naarm/Melbourne. On the streets they are known for their C-grade stage banter, B-grade indie-psych-rock, and A-grade friendship. Their typically Tasmanian, heads-screwed-on approach has seen them release a swath of music (including a 14 track extended edition of their debut EP - Natural Press); play some notable sets at festivals like Party in the Paddock, The Great Escape, A Festival Called George, and Bonzaki. They will be joined by local Psych-pop legends Kalopsia and Monet's pond.

The Retreat Hotel would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which The Retreat now stands, and pay our respects to all elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded and that our venue operates on stolen land.
