Oscar LaDell returns to The Retreat to celebrate the release of his latest EP No Blue. Joined by fellow Naarm/Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Wilson Blackley and folk-soul artist Romaan, Oscar will deliver a night of earthy, soul-infused sounds.
Packed with poetic songwriting and soulful sounds, Oscar's newest EP No Blue is a rich musical experience that treads the line between heartbreak and hope. Recorded to tape on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Castlemaine, Victoria, the project is as honest as it sounds and cements Oscar's place as a singular, unique artist in the Soul, Blues and Roots landscape.
A soul-inspired singer, songwriter & producer, Wilson Blackley’s songs tow the line between love and pain, provoking his audience’s imaginations, and reinventing the spaces in which he performs.
From photography to film to uniquely intimate melodies, Romaan is always telling stories. Themes of mental health, struggling with self-worth and watching those around her ring through her raw work.
The Retreat Hotel would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which The Retreat now stands, and pay our respects to all elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded and that our venue operates on stolen land.
