Sylvi gunn - 'Lost trades' SINGLE LAUNCH w/ Flora and Loukoumi

  • 280 Sydney Road Brunswick, VIC, 3056 Australia (map)

Main Room / $20

It’s Sylvi gunn’s long awaited debut single launch. See Sylvi perform Lost trades and other songs,

live at The Retreat with her new five piece band. Deep vulnerable vocal tones blend with cello, a special treat in a mix of folk pop ballads and bops.Featuring special guests LOUKOUMI and FLORA.

Sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes insightful sometimes silly, Sylvi weaves her storytelling through gorgeous melodies. She sings queer love stories, community warmth and the complex project of working through grief - both personal and communal.

Sylvi’s debut single Lost Trades is a song about sibling grief, about creative yearning and all the places you can find yourself. The song features Sylvi on vocals, guitar and drums, Ffion Stoakes on cello and Damon Mudge on Bass.

Inspired by a day at The Lost Trades Fair in Bendigo, the song is a celebration of artists, and a quest for meaning, with playful storytelling, a nostalgic sound and a powerful release. 50% of proceeds to the Black People's Union (and 50% to the artists). Sylvi’s live shows are an intimate journey through the valleys of emotional turmoil towards soaring radical joy, crying, laughing, dancing. Don’t miss this special night.
