The Pinstripes represent a new wave of Melbourne’s post-lockdown punk artistry. Their recently released debut EP, Fish On Land articulates the anxieties in adjusting to adulthood with a colourfully sharp poetic license that’s instantly relatable and wrapped in a creatively composed garage style.
Tam's 10+ years of playing in bands such as Pop Singles, The Stevens, Girlatones, Leah Senior, Permits, Carpet Burn, and Chook Race, among others, has become ingrained in his overall musicality, and the influence of each can be heard. His latest album drew heavily upon 90's noise-rock/grunge/alternative bands, but more recently he has been exploring acoustic, folk, and jazz approaches. His influences of 60's psychedelia, 70's singer-songwriters, and 80's post-punk and lo-fi can all still be heard.
The Retreat Hotel would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which The Retreat now stands, and pay our respects to all elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded and that our venue operates on stolen land.
