Stirr at The Retreat Hotel Brunswick w/ The Halves + Tameem

Main Room / Free Show

RSVP

Eora based post-punk band Stirr makes their Naarm debut at The Retreat Hotel joined by The Halves and Tameem.

Stirr weaves swirling saxophone, melodic bass lines, and inventive sound design into a strain of post-punk that nods to Pitchfork-era favourites such as Preoccupations and Protomartyr. After quickly building a dedicated following throughout Sydney, Stirr are excited to make their live debut in Melbourne.

With support from The Halves, a Naarm band rooted in emotion and unwavering intensity, lending elements of post-punk and alternative. As well as emerging independent artist Tameem, who utilises his skills in production, saxophone, flute, piano, and vocals to build a sonic plane of atmospheric and ambient alt R&B.

This is a free-entry event. Presented by Upstairs Neighbour & Nowhere Group.

The Retreat Hotel would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which The Retreat now stands, and pay our respects to all elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded and that our venue operates on stolen land.
